A Few Things From My Week

  • We started a small group this week, with several other couples.  It will be a great way to get to know other couples our age and discuss things.
  • We got to eat at a restaurant that I’ve been wanting to eat at for a few years:  Weber Grill, and yes, it was excellent.
  • Last weekend Jessi and I found it was good just to get away from the normal routines and schedules and get out on the town.  Spent the afternoon spending gift card from Christmas, and sitting in a coffee shop just talking.  I could not have asked for a better Valentine’s Day.
  • Productivity was on a high this week, got a lot done
  • Suspense was the name of the game with Jessi’s job, still waiting to see what will happen.
  • Prayer’s came true, allowing us to relax and rely on God to take care of things.

A Few Things

Here’s a few things from this week:

  • I was able to go on a few bike rides this week, it was great to get back outside after a cold and wet winter.
  • I surprised Jessi yesterday with flowers delivered to her at work.
  • I sold my motorcycle this week to my brother, it will be a little sad to not have it this summer.

That’s all that I have for this week.  Have a good Valentine’s Day everyone.

Decision Time

This week proved to be pretty brutal, a lot of stress, but I suppose those will happen every once in a while.

  • We are still waiting and praying about the status of my wife’s job. We are supposed to hear something a week or two.
  • I had to deal with a lot of tough situations this week at work, more than normal.  I got through them OK, but it was a little challenging.
  • I’ve determined that to successfully prioritize my time I’ve got to have a separation from my job and my family.
  • I was faced with a decision to sell or not to sell something that is very sentimental to me, this is going to be a tough one, but maybe now is the time.
  • I’m excited about the way Jessi and I are growing in community with friends and family.

That’s my week in a nutshell.

How was yours?

The Start Of Something New

I’ve decided to start something new here. Each week I am going to be looking back at the things that have happened as well as the things that have caught my attention. It is a way for me to journal the events in my life. It is not just for me though, feel free to post comments, stories, or thoughts, actually I would prefer it. I really enjoy hearing from others so if you see something in the future that catches your eye, let me know! Here we go.

  • A giant blanket of snow (10 inches) was dumped on us this week and it was great! There’s just something about fresh snow that I enjoy.  It was really dry and powdery so it didn’t make good snowballs or snowmen, but it was still great to see.
  • Jessi and I took the opportunity, once the roads got cleaned up enough, to go out to a fish and wildlife area and take in nature at one of its most peaceful times.  It was great to just stop and stare.  There were birds in the area and animal tracks across through the snow on the frozen lakes.  We saw a red-tailed hawk sitting in a tree as we drove through.  It was amazing.
  • We started planning our anniversary vacation this week.  We are going to be going this summer, as long as everything works out.  We are planning on going to Mackinac island in Michigan.  Neither one of us have ever been there and it looked like a really neat place.  We are trying to get our room booked early before everybody else decides to take their vacation on the same days.
  • The stresses at work are starting to disappear, which is a very good thing.  There are times when I don’t like that job, and other times when its great, and luckly 90% of the year it is great.
  • I got to spend a lot of time with Jessi this week since her place of work was closed due to the weather.  That was a great modification to our normal schedule.

That is all that I have for this week.  Time to get ready for the Super Bowl!
