I’ve found that my most productive times come in the morning, mostly prior to 10:00 am. Yes, as you guess it, I’m a morning person. The mornings allow me an uninterrupted time of thought and concentration that I normally do not get at other points in the day. I’ve found that as the day goes on a lot more things start to go on around me, which moves this easily distracted mind, in many directions.
Everybody has their own time that they are the most productive. So, if you are stopping by and reading this then please comment and let me know when your are the most productive.

In previous years, my wife’s family, has drew names to exchange gifts so that nobody had to buy gifts for everybody. This is a great way to reduce the amount that anybody has to spend on others. This year however they had a different plan. A great one too, I might add.
This year, we decided to gather $10 from everybody and each pick a charity. We are going to use a card game to determine which person’s charity the money is going to be donated to. This is good for a couple reasons:
1. Card games are a usually pass-time while gathered with the family.
2. Charities provide help to people that need it the most.
I’m very happy with this decisions and am very glad that somebody else will be helped through our new Christmas tradition.
The winter months are times when the needs of people seem to come out, and a lot can be done to help people who need it.

I’ve recently discovered the strength that the web has at reaching people with so many opportunities. Any opportunity can reach many people through many streams of publicity. The possibilities are endless!
Many times we can have an ititiative in our church or community and it can do great at reaching the people local to it. With the internet people can connect with others and share their thoughts and initiatives to help others. The strength is definitely in numbers, and if more people can be reached with less effort the more effective something will be. Below are a few initiatives that I’ve been turned on to recently that are doing a lot for the people, not just locally, but some globally.
500Toys.org
Compassion’s Adopt a Child
Call and Response
LifeStraw
These are just a few of many examples of how people can be helped through the web. Know of any others? Feel free to comment and let everybody know.

I’ve been seeing a few of these around the web lately and it seems to be a good way to provide some information about myself. So here ya go:
5 Joys
- Helping people with just about anything.
- Journeying through life with my wife (hey that rhymed!)
- Taking in God’s creation through just about any activity that allows me to do so.
- Finding useful ways to use the internet, there’s a lot of potential here.
- Spending time with family.
5 Fears
- Snakes, I don’t like seeing them anywhere, not even on tv.
- Needles, just thinking about them kinda makes me light headed.
- That I won’t be able to provide for, or protect, the people that depend on me (currently just my wife).
- That somehow, I’ll mess up this thing called life.
- Speaking in front of people, I can do it, have done it quite a bit, but still would rather not
- That I won’t be able to mentor my kids (when we have them) into the people that we want them to be.
5 Obsessions
- My wife, she’s the reason that I do the majority of the things that I do.
- The internet, its a very powerful tool that has a lot of potential.
- Coffee, yes, I’m addicted, I’m not too big to admit it!
- Organizing….anything (everything has its place, why shouldn’t it be there?)
- Nature, it was put there for us to enjoy, why not enjoy it?
5 Surprising Facts
- I still watch Saved by the Bell about every weekday morning, it was a classic alright.
- Even with my obsession for electronics, I still like to go to places where none of them work (wilderness, mountains, etc).
- I occasionally enjoy old country or bluegrass music
- I was a band geek all through school, for some reason I wanted to learn all of the instruments I could, I can still play a lot of them.
- I successfully surprised, my now wife, the day I proposed to her. Usually i can’t keep a surprise from her.
There’s just some random information about me. Thanks for reading, if you decide to write something similar leave a comment as to its location. Thanks.
